I frequently talk about Morgan's vision of 'Supply On Demand®'--how we help manufacturers coordinate all the endpoints of a supply chain to get goods where they're needed at exactly the right time.
This month, Morgan is focusing its efforts on a different kind of supply and demand problem. Sadly, the world's need for basic nourishment outstrips available supplies. So, we have teamed up with Feed My Starving Children to contribute meals for those in the world's neediest areas. For every shipment in March, Morgan will make a donation to Feed My Starving Children. This outstanding charity has built an innovative model for sending meals abroad at ultra low cost.
Our goal is to provide at least 30,000 meals for children in such afflicted areas as Haiti, El Salvador, Indonesia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and the Philippines. We call the effort, "Delivering Hope for the Hungry," and we plan to make this an annual commitment. You can follow our progress throughout the month at MorganDeliversHope.com. While you're on the site, why not make a donation of your own?
It turns out, hunger really is another supply chain problem: The issue isn't that there's not enough food; rather, it is that the right supplies don't get to the right places at the right times and prices.
That sounds like a challenge for a company that specializes in Supply On Demand®. And, while we can't solve the whole problem on our own, we are proud to do our part to deliver hope for the hungry.
